Our History

The story of our company began in 1963 when Vernon Drake began surveying in Nassau County under the company name Vernon N. Drake & Associates. His esteemed quality of work and reputable name was carried on in the year 2000 when Mike Manzie purchased the company and changed the name to Manzie and Drake Land Surveying. For the next 20 plus years Mike grew the company and purchased our current location at 117 S. 9th Street.

When Mike became ready to retire, Lanie Platt, a longtime employee, went back to school to receive her Professional Surveyor's license. In 2022, Lanie Platt along with Mike Manzie's son Brett purchased the company together. In the year 2026 they decided to change the name to Manzie & Platt, Inc. to reflect the current ownership. Our company is now running smoothly with the vast knowledge and records of many years of extensive surveying history in Nassau County. We are grateful for our company's history in this beautiful town and hope to serve this community for many more years to come.
